Winchester ’73 (1950) Rated NR

A cowboy is obsessed with a stolen gun as it travels from owner to owner in the West. Starring James Stewart, Shelley Winters, and Dan Duryea.

This is a brilliant story that follows the prize gun from owner to owner while the rightful owner tries to track it down. The story is great with a great pace to it. It’s a film of its time. It’s a stereotypical western film with great shootout scenes. The acting was ok, not too bad – but not the best. It has some miscasting, but that is expected of the time period. The film is brilliantly shot in black and white, and the twists and turns really showcase the story. This film is one that is worth the watch.
