Soundbreaking: Stories from the Cutting Edge of Recorded Music (2016) Rated NR

This documentary follows the history of recorded music with interviews that talk about the different sounds of innovation and experimentation that came through music. Starring Dermot Mulroney, Todd Boyd, and Questlove.

This is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen about music. It follows the last century of recorded music. We hear about the technology, the people behind the music, and the different styles of music through the years. We also explore the growth of sound recordings that made the different styles. The documentary goes in depth with the process of recording music. I consider myself a novice when it comes to music and this taught me a lot about the process of making music. It’s a series that I highly recommend, making it worth the watch.
