TRON: Legacy (2010) Rated PG

The son of a virtual designer goes looking for his father and ends up in the virtual world his father designed. Starring Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund, and Olivia Wilde.

I have yet to see the original film. Saying that, I don’t think I missed out on anything with the second film. I basically know the premise of the original, which does help in the sequel. This film brings back the use of grand special effects that was so pivotal in the first film. What this film lacks, however, is story. The premise itself isn’t bad, but the execution is muddled. It also fails to compel interest in the story. We couldn’t care less about the characters except the moment he finds his father. That is the only good moment of the entire film. This film struggles with audience engagement, making it not worth the watch.
