The film tells the story of the 2004 60 Minutes report that investigated President George W. Bush’s military service and the criticism against the anchor Dan Rather, producer Mary Mapes, and their careers. Starring Cate Blanchett, Robert Redford, and Topher Grace.
This is one thing Hollywood can do – they can take a lie and call it truth. It’s a problem that is overpowering in Hollywood today. This film is great at proving that the media will take whatever they want to make a truth rather than tell the truth. This film is quintessentially what is happening in our world today. It does cover some truth, such as the people in power can make up whatever they deem as truth and gaslight a nation into thinking it is the truth. This film has it’s moments, mostly in the acting, but it lacks on so many levels, making it not worth a watch.
