In 1860s Texas, an abused wife falls in love with a Kiowa chief. Her abusive husband sends out a hunting party to get her back. Starring Christopher Reeve, Raoul Max Trujillo, and Tony Todd.
I don’t know why this film has such a low score. It’s part of a series that tells the story of Black Fox, a former slave who tries to bridge the tension between the Natives and the whites as they move West. The story is there, and while it might not be realistic, it’s still a good story as he tries to help each community achieve peace. This film is the middle story in the series. After a year of peace with the Kiowa, the man whose wife chose to stay behind and marry the chief wants her back. He will do anything to bring her back, including starting a war. Thus, Black Fox has to stop the hunting party to bring peace. The actors are great. Trujillo, as the chief, and Todd as Black Fox bring their top-notch performances, while Reeve, whom I normally love, was weak. I wish they didn’t make him so weak, but the West had their weak members too. This film is good and is worth the watch.
