The Eagle (2011) Rated PG-13

In Roman Britain, a young soldier is on a quest to honor his father’s memory by finding the golden eagle from his legion. Starring Channing Tatum, István Göz, and Bence Gerö.

Sometimes I consider a good film one that I think about long after I watched it. This is one of those films. It’s not Oscar worthy, but it is one to remember. Granted, the film is not really historically accurate; it takes creative licenses with the facts. I thought it was brilliantly written, and Jamie Bell was mesmerizing in his role as a slave.  Channing Tatum isn’t one that I watch for. I haven’t really seen him do anything that makes me go,  WOW. Although, this time I thought he did a fine job at playing a Roman soldier that has lost his father and his reputation. If you like historical action films without accuracy, this film is one to watch. It’s definitely worth the watch.
