Detachment (2011) Rated UR

detachmentA Substitute teacher drifts from classroom to classroom until he connects with his latest class. Starring Adrien Brody, Marcia Gay Harden, James Caan, Christina Hendricks, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, Tim Blake Nelson, William Petersen, Bryan Cranston

Wow. That’s all I can say. I was pleasantly surprised by this film. It’s a great look at our education system and the problems not just with it but also the influences or lack there of parents and students a like. It’s a film that doesn’t take these issues lightly. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen and I believe we need more teachers like Henry Barthes. We need more human beings like Henry Barthes, those that care but have their own struggles. It doesn’t artistically flow but the story carries it. It’s a must watch.
